25/01/'11 18 young trumpet soloists from all over the world will rival for the considerable first prize of the Only Brass Contest: Trumpet, including a solo concert with deFilharmonie conducted by Philippe Herreweghe. Over 80 amateur musicians, conservatory and academy students registered for the Only Brass Masterclasses. Conclude this brass weekend festively, together with all these participants and audience. 10/11/'10 The applications for the trumpet contest are closed. Based on the number and the artistic level of the candidates, this contest can already be considered as a succes! The selection will be announced as soon as possible.

22/10/'10 An opening concert was added on Friday 4 February at 19.30hrs. in the 'Witte zaal'. The A.M.Brassband of the MA'GO! Antwerp and the Brass Ensemble of the Wijnegem Music Academy 'Zoltan Kodaly' will festively launch the Only Brass Weekend. Both ensembles are conducted by Arthur Vanderhoeft. Free entrance!

20/10/'10 The application deadline for the masterclasses is prolonged to 9 January. Don't hesitate, some masterclasses are rapidly filling up.

1/9/'10 Frans Violet confirmed his participation as teacher at the masterclasses. Register in time for the masterclasses, places are limited!

1/7/'10 Brass Band Willebroek, 12 times Belgian representative and 6 times price winner in the European Brass Band Championships, will play a guest concert in 'CC Ter Vesten' in Beveren on invitation of Brassband Burgipja. Tickets available now

6/5/'10 Also deFilharmonie (Flemish Royal Philharmonic) supports our initiative. An invititation for a soloist concert with deFilharmonie will be added to the 1ste prize. A serious opportunity and a real career boost for every professional trumpet player to be! The regent of deFilharmonie will join the jury in order to guard the level of the final winner.
